Other parts of the country have lakes and mountains. So what’s different about Maine’s Lakes & Mountains Region? It begins with Maine’s four distinct seasons, each with its own great ways to enjoy the area’s natural wonders and welcoming communities. Here, you’ll find hundreds of glacial lakes, two majestic mountain ranges and seven of Maine’s highest peaks. It truly is a part of the country unlike any other. Where the highest adventure and deepest beauty come together, in a family-friendly experience as action-packed or serenity-filled as you desire.

From our stunning lakes perfect for summer enjoyment, to the fall season with its breathtaking foliage, leading into a winter wonderland filled with fun activities like skiing and snowboarding at Pleasant Mountain, and the winter carnival featuring the annual mushers bowl, we are just a short drive from North Conway, N.H., with its shopping outlets, and Portland, which offers even more activities.

We are a fantastic vacation destination in Western Maine, featuring numerous newly constructed businesses eagerly awaiting your visit.
